Colon and Rectal Surgery

The physicians of the Department of Surgery treat a wide range of medical diagnoses for patients suffering from disorders of the colon, rectum and anus—from laparoscopic colorectal surgery to open colon resections. Physicians also help patients with a number of nonsurgical health issues, including rectal and colon cancer screenings and hemorrhoid treatments.

University Specialty Clinics surgeons perform a number of operations each year, increasingly using minimally invasive techniques.  Our surgeons are also active researchers and educators, discovering new and better ways of helping patients and teaching the next generation of surgeons.
