After earning an undergraduate degree at Stockholm University (Stockholm, Sweden) in 1988, Dr. Faranak Vossoughi earned a doctor of medicine from Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden, in 1992. Following residency training in general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery, and hand surgery at hospitals in Sweden and Denmark in 1998, she completed a hand surgery fellowship program at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, in 2001. Her most recent research project analyzed morphology of the sigmoid notch by using computerized tomographic images to reconstruct three-dimensional models of the distal radius.
